A romance, a mystery, a ghost story, a laugh riot: as the latest offering of the Fort Scott Community College Theatre Department, “Run, Chicken! Run!” is all these things. The play, adapted for the stage and directed by sophomore Hyden Wirsig of Drexel, Mo., hits the stage at the Ellis Family Fine Arts Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Feb. 25. Admission is free. “This is a labor of love for Hyden and the cast and crew,” said Allen Twitchell, FSCC theater instructor. “It is an entirely student-driven production.” The cast features sophomores Dray Dickey, Ben Wirsig, Sonny Webb, Paityn Curtis, Hyden Wirsig and Evan Ballinger; freshmen Thade Yates, Khris Patel, Marquece Hayes, Jenna Stockstill, Christina King and Kayla Russell; alumni Abby Sweat and Colleen Sweat; with special appearances by Reagan Wirsig and John Wirsig. The sound designer is Zach Loper. The FSCC Theatre Department concludes its season with “Life’s a Musical,” an original script by Dray Dickey.
